Title: Never Give Up
Text:
Psalm 107:27-28 (ESV)
27 they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits' end.
28 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
Observation:
Are you experiencing distress in your life? You don't have to live very long to come to a place in your life where you experience the pain of distress. It is the common lot of the human experience in this fallen world. Every decision we make in life has consequences. Additionally, there are the decisions of others that impact our lives.
The selected passage for today seized my attention when I read these words: "they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits' end". If you are there, you are not alone.
Psalm 107:1 (ESV)
1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
It is impossible to exaggerate the mercy of the LORD. However, the thing that breaks my heart is the abundance of ingratitude that fills the sinful human heart. Why is the human heart so blind?
Psalm 107:8 (NKJV)
8 Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
No matter what you are going through today you can rest in the blessed assurance that there is a God in heaven who loves you; He is good, and His mercy endures forever. God is still in the business of hearing the cries of those who call upon Him for help.
Psalm 107:28 (NLT)
28 "LORD, help!" they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, I praise and thank You for being a God who hears and answers the prayers of our troubled hearts, and delivers us from our distress.
Father God, I thank you for being so good and merciful to us. Lord, I thank you for withholding from us what we deserve, and giving to us what we don't deserve.
Lord, I pray that you would open blinded eyes so that they may see you in all of your glory, and give you the praise and thanks that you alone deserve. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
