The Word of God for wisdom:
Proverbs 27:12 (HCSB)
12 A sensible person sees danger and takes cover; the inexperienced keep going and are punished.
The Word of God for inspiration:
Psalm 108:5-6 (HCSB)
5 God, be exalted above the heavens, and let Your glory be over the whole earth.
6 Save with Your right hand and answer me so that those You love may be rescued.
The Word of God for encouragement:
Hebrews 10:19-25 (HCSB)
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way He has opened for us through the curtain (that is, His flesh),
21 and since we have a great high priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled [clean] from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.
23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works,
25 not staying away from our [worship] meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
My observation:
I was recently engaged in a discussion of the words how and why. If you find the why, you will be able to discover the how.
The writer of the letter of Hebrews had given his readers the why; now, he calls upon them to act upon what he had told them; he shows them the how. In view of what you know to be true, the author encourages them to have faith in God.
Are you willing to ask the most important question in life? This is the question every person needs to ask.
Acts 16:30-31 (HCSB)
30 Then he escorted them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."
Yes, my brothers and my sisters, the way to God is by faith. Those who start in faith should continue in faith. If you have not yet come to God, consider the question the jailer asked Paul in Acts 16. Consider this sobering truth about the consequences of not having faith in God.
Hebrews 4:1-3 (HCSB)
1 Therefore, while the promise to enter His rest remains, let us fear that none of you should miss it.
2 For we also have received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard did not benefit them, since they were not united with those who heard it in faith
3 (for we who have believed enter the rest), in keeping with what He has said: So I swore in My anger, they will not enter My rest. And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world,
My prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so thankful for the rest that you offer for our weary and sin sick souls.
Father, I pray that all who do not have the assurance of eternal life will ask the right question, and go to God's word to find the right answer.
Father, I pray that all who know you by faith in Christ will find peace and strength in drawing near to God. As the hymn writer says, "O the pure delight of a single hour when before thy throne I spend". Father, draw me nearer to You. In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 55:11 (HCSB)
11 so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it ⌊to do⌋."
