The Word of God for wisdom:
Proverbs 18:6-7 (NLT)
6 Fools' words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating.
7 The mouths of fools are their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips.
The Word of God for inspiration:
Psalm 148:5-6 (NLT)
5 Let every created thing give praise to the LORD, for he issued his command, and they came into being.
6 He set them in place forever and ever. His decree will never be revoked.
The Word of God for encouragement:
Acts 20:22-32 (HCSB)
22 "And now I am on my way to Jerusalem, bound in my spirit, not knowing what I will encounter there,
23 except that in town after town the Holy Spirit testifies to me that chains and afflictions are waiting for me.
24 But I count my life of no value to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God's grace.
25 "And now I know that none of you will ever see my face again—everyone I went about preaching the kingdom to.
26 Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent clean of everyone's blood,
27 for I did not shrink back from declaring to you the whole plan of God.
28 Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock that the Holy Spirit has appointed you to as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which He purchased with His own blood.
29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 And men will rise up from your own number with deviant doctrines to lure the disciples into following them.
31 Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you with tears.
32 "And now I commit you to God and to the message of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all who are sanctified.
My observation:
One day, if Jesus tarries, we will each come to the place where we will be near the end of our earthly journey.
Will we be able to be like he Apostle Paul and look back at our life and our ministry without regret? The Apostle Paul did not have an easy life as a servant, but he had the satisfaction of knowing that he was faithful to the end.
As the Apostle looked ahead, he could see storm clouds in the future. However, he could look to the future without fear because his confidence was in the Lord he served. We can learn and draw so much support and strength from Paul's farewell speech to the elders and the church.
My prayer:
Father God, my dear Father, my heart's desire and prayer to you is that I will be able to finish strong like the Apostle Paul.
Father God, I want to live my life in such a manner that I will be able to look back without regret, and be able to look to the future without fear.
Father, because of who you are, I am so thankful that by trusting in you, I will be able to accomplish both of these desires of my heart. Amen.
2 Timothy 4:7 (HCSB)
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
