The Word of God for wisdom:
Proverbs 17:7 (HCSB)
7 Eloquent words are not appropriate on a fool's lips; how much worse are lies for a ruler.
The Word of God for inspiration:
Psalm 133:1 (HCSB)
1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!
The Word of God for encouragement:
Acts 10:13-14 (HCSB)
13 Then a voice said to him, "Get up, Peter; kill and eat!"
14 "No, Lord!" Peter said. "FOR I have never eaten anything common and ritually unclean!"
My observation:
The words that Peter spoke in response to what he heard God say to him in a dream are words that will guarantee defeat and failure in the life of a believer.
We should never say to God the words, "No, Lord", and "For I have never".
The good news is that God dealt tenderly with Peter; he realizes the tendency we have to want to hold on to the old and the familiar. However, there are times when God wants to do a new thing, and he needs people who are willing to say, "Yes, Lord".
When the Spirit of God speaks to you, what will you say?
My prayer:
Lord, God Almighty, when your Spirit speaks to me, I pray that I will say with my whole heart, and with a willing heart, "Yes, Lord, and Amen.
--
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
