The Word of God for wisdom:
Proverbs 1:1-6 (NLT)
1 These are the proverbs of Solomon, David's son, king of Israel.
2 Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise.
3 Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair.
4 These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young.
5 Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance
6 by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables, the words of the wise and their riddles.
The Word of God for inspiration:
Psalm 1:1-6 (NLT)
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.
4 But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6 For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
The Word of God for encouragement:
Genesis 1:1 (NLT)
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
My observation:
Happy New Year!
When I want world class wisdom I go to the best in the class. The choice is clear, and it has always been the case. God is my heavenly Father, and His only begotten son, Jesus, is my Savior, and the Lord of my life.
I have decided to associate myself with the creator of the heavens and the earth. The Lord is my maker, my redeemer, and my keeper. Today is special for me. I started this journey as a Christ follower sixty two years ago. As a 9 year old, I gave my life to Christ on December 31, 1949. That was a Saturday night in a Watch Night Service. On January 1, 1950 I followed the example of Jesus by submitting to believer's baptism.
My prayer:
Father God, my dear Father, I am so blessed to begin another year of walking with the Lord. Father, I started with you, and by faith, I will continue with you.
My song:
Pass Me Not (This is the song they sang that Saturday night I gave my heart to Jesus). Click on link below to listen:

1 Peter 2:2-3 (ESV)
2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
