The Word of God for wisdom:

Proverbs 26:27-28 (ESV)
²⁷ Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling. ²⁸ A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.

The Word of God for inspiration:

Psalm 111:2 (ESV)
Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them.

Psalm 111:4-5 (ESV)
⁴ He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. ⁵ He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.

The Word of God for encouragement:

Matthew 5:9 (ESV)
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

My observation:

The choice word in today's beatitude is peacemakers. In this beatitude Jesus did not have an Old Testament scripture that he could draw from. Jesus himself was to be the first peacemaker. It was at the cross of Calvary that Jesus became the great peacemaker.

Romans 5:1 (ESV)
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The true peacemakers today are those who have made peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who have been receivers of peace are now to go out and be ambassadors of the great peacemaker.

2 Corinthians 5:19-20 (ESV)
¹⁹ that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

My prayer:

Father God, my dear Father, I am so grateful that you are the God of peace, and that you are able to provide to your people the peace of God. Father, I pray that I will be a faithful ambassador of peace as I represent Jesus in my daily walk.

Philippians 1:2 (ESV)
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
