Sunday Morning Reflections_October 2, 2011

The Word of God for wisdom:

Proverbs 2:6-8 (ESV)
6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8 guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.

The Word of God for inspiration:

Psalm 36:5-9 (ESV)
5 Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. 6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord. 7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. 8 They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. 9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.

The Word of God for encouragement:

Psalm 36:11 (ESV)
Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

My prayer:

Father God, my dear Father, when I read these verses and think about the goodness of the Lord, I realize how much I have to be grateful to the Lord for. Father, it is such a blessing to know that the fountain from which your blessings flow to your children will never run dry. Father, I pray for steadfastness in my love for you and my trust in you. Father, keep me near the cross.

My song:

1 Peter 2:2-3 (ESV)
2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
