Sunday Morning Reflections_May 1, 2011

The Word for wisdom:

Proverbs 1:1-2 (MSG)
1 These are the wise sayings of Solomon, David's son, Israel's king— 2 Written down so we'll know how to live well and right, to understand what life means and where it's going;

The Word for inspiration:

Psalm 106:43-45 (NLT)
43 Again and again he rescued them, but they chose to rebel against him, and they were finally destroyed by their sin. 44 Even so, he pitied them in their distress and listened to their cries. 45 He remembered his covenant with them and relented because of his unfailing love.

The Word for encouragement:

Romans 6:22 (MSG)
But now that you've found you don't have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way!

My prayer:

Father God, I am so grateful that you sought me before I knew you, and rescued me from my wayward ways. I am and will always be grateful for Jesus, and for what he did for me on the cross at Calvary. Father God, I pray for the wisdom to get on and stay on your side, which is the only way to experience abundant life today and eternal life forever. Lord Jesus, keep me near the cross.
