Sunday Morning Reflections_November 22, 2010

The Word for wisdom:

Proverbs 21:23 (HCSB)
The one who guards his mouth and tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

The Word for inspiration:

Psalm 31:19-20 (HCSB)
19 How great is Your goodness that You have stored up for those who fear You and accomplished in the sight of everyone for those who take refuge in You. 20 You hide them in the protection of Your presence; You conceal them in a shelter from the schemes of men, from quarrelsome tongues.

The Word for encouragement:

Colossians 4:6 (HCSB)
Your speech should always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.

James 1:19-20 (HCSB)
19 My dearly loved brothers, understand this: Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, 20 for man's anger does not accomplish God's righteousness.

My prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I pray that you would hide my life in the protection of your abiding presence. Father God, it is only by your presence and your power that I can guard my mouth and my tongue to meet your standards. Lord, work in me, and give me the desire to cooperate with you, so that out of me will come words that are loving, kind, and full of grace.

Psalm 19:14 (HCSB)
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
