The Word for wisdom:
Proverbs 25:13-14 (HCSB)
13 To those who send him, a trustworthy messenger is like the coolness of snow on a harvest day; he refreshes the life of his masters. 14 The man who boasts about a gift that does not exist is like clouds and wind without rain.
The Word for inspiration:
Psalm 100:1-5 (HCSB)
1 Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. 3 Acknowledge that Yahweh is God. He made us, and we are His — His people, the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. 5 For Yahweh is good, and His love is eternal; His faithfulness endures through all generations.
The Word for encouragement:
Luke 17:11-19 (HCSB)
11 While traveling to Jerusalem, He passed between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As He entered a village, 10 men with serious skin diseases met Him. They stood at a distance 13 and raised their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" 14 When He saw them, He told them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And while they were going, they were healed. 15 But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned and, with a loud voice, gave glory to God. 16 He fell facedown at His feet, thanking Him. And he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus said, "Were not 10 cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Didn't any return to give glory to God except this foreigner?" 19 And He told him, "Get up and go on your way. Your faith has made you well."
My prayer:
Our father in heaven, my dear Father, I delight to join in the day that has been set aside as Thanksgiving Day to give you praise and thanks.
However, my prayer is that every day of my life will be a day that I give thanks to you with my lips and my life. Father, may the thanksgiving expressed by my lips be accompanied by thanks-living in my daily walk. Father God, today and every day I am thankful for your promises and your provisions.
