Text:
Colossians 2:1-3 (NLT)
1 I want you to know how much I have agonized for you and for the church at Laodicea, and for many other believers who have never met me personally.
2 I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God's mysterious plan, which is Christ himself.
3 In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Observation:
I sense in my spirit that God is up to something huge as we prepare to enter a new year. I see signs of it being manifested in the Body of Christ. In my local congregation we are calling for a bold and audacious gathering of God's people to knit together in love for God, and for one another as we seek God's will, and speak God's Word as the Word of God commands us to do.
I sense a fresh and renewed call to carry out the Great Commission, and the Great Commandment. Now is the time to trust in the Lord, and do what He tells us to do.
Matthew 28:19-20 (HCSB)
19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Matthew 22:36-39 (ESV)
36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"
37 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
38 This is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
What is your purpose in life? Do you pray using the pattern Jesus taught about prayer?
Luke 11:2 (ESV)
2 And he said to them, "When you pray, say: "Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come.
O, that we as God's people would have these three character traits of maturity.
- Be encouraged
- Be strong
- Be assured
Prayer:
Father, hallowed be Your name. Father, I pray that we, Your people, will pray daily for the coming of Your kingdom to earth as we, the people of God, speak the Word, and live the Word in the power of the Holy Spirit, and in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Luke 1:37 (ESV)
37 For nothing will be impossible with God."
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
