Why We Need to Understand the Enemy?

Text:

Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)

12  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Observation:

The Bible tells us that during the last days times will be difficult. This is what the Bible says.

2 Timothy 3:1 (ESV)

1  But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.

Note that the Bible also tells us why the days will be difficult; it is because people will be godless in the world. The Bible paints a picture of the nature of the problems.

2 Timothy 3:2-5 (ESV)

2  For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

3  heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good,

4  treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5  having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

How then shall the believers still living in the world live? The Bible gives us the answer. We should stay close to God, and give your troubles and trials to Him in prayer.

Ephesians 6:10-11 (ESV)

10  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

11  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Troubles will come. However, don't be dismayed or discouraged. Take everything to God in prayer. When you give everything to God, the battle becomes His battle, and not yours. If you know the truth, you will know who will win that battle.

John 16:33 (ESV)

33  I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

Prayer:

Father, we love You, and we prayerfully enter into Your presence, and give You praise, and thanks for all of our provisions. Father, in faith and obedience, we cast all of our cares upon You. Father, we sing this doxology to You.

Jude 1:24-25 (ESV)

24  Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,

25  to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
