Title: Do You Have Goals That Really Matter?

1 Timothy 1:5 (HCSB)
5 Now the goal of our instruction is love [that comes] from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.
Observation:
When it comes to living a life that is pleasing to God there is nothing that matters more than our heart. It is true that everything comes from the heart; it matters to God so it should matter to us. Notice the words of Jesus.
John 14:24 (HCSB)
24 The one who doesn't love Me will not keep My words. The word that you hear is not Mine but is from the Father who sent Me.
Jesus primary aim and focus was on doing the will of His Father; O how I want that to be my will and my focus and passion.
1 Samuel 16:7 (HCSB)
7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or his stature, because I have rejected him. Man does not see what the LORD sees, for man sees what is visible, but the LORD sees the heart."
What is the next best step that I can take that will move me in the direction of living my life more like Jesus lived His life?

8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, double-minded people!
Prayer:
Father God, my dear Father, I thank You for the work that You have been doing in my heart while I have been dealing with this physical virus in my body for the past 30 days. Lord, I thank You for the time it has afforded me to think about things that matter most, and aligning my heart with Your heart. Lord, I can't do this, but You can; so I ask for Your help. Father, this is my plea, and I ask it in the name of Jesus, Amen.
