Title: A Promise Made; A Promise Kept
Text:
Isaiah 9:6-7 (KJV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Observation:
I woke up this morning with love on my mind; so I wrote the thought that I had so that I could see what was behind that thought.
When I opened the Word template this morning, the scripture that was in the front of my mind was the text for today's meditation. What I found behind that thought was this passage and the title for today's meditation.
Luke 2:8-11 (KJV)
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
The Christmas story never gets old; it never ceases to bless me and to lift my spirit, and bend my heart toward being grateful for God's amazing love, and grace unmerited. Always remember that God did it for you and for me.
John 3:16-18 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, Sovereign Lord, my dear Father, I am so glad for what You did in choosing to love the whole world with an everlasting love; a love that never fails.
Father God, my soul sings with joy not just at this season of the year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus, but my soul sings every day; thank you Lord for Jesus. In His name I pray, Amen.
My soul sings:
Joy to the World
