Title: What Is the Condition of Your Heart?
Text:
Jeremiah 4:3 (ESV)
3 For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: "Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
Observation:
I'm not a farmer neither am I the son of a farmer, but I have a friend who is a farmer, and he has taught me some lessons about farming. Two of those lessons are plowing and sowing. To have a successful harvest plowing must precede sowing.
Plowing the field before sowing will break up the fallow ground. The soil must be prepared to receive the seed. A repentant heart prepares the hearer for the sowing of the Word of God. The plowing removes the thorns that prevent growth. Not everyone has ears to hear.
Luke 8:14 (ESV)
14 And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.
Ask the Lord to prepare your heart for the hearing and obeying of His Word; then your heart is prepared to reap the harvest of a blessed life. Ask the Lord to help you; He will do it, I know He will. If you are willing, He is able.
Psalm 51:7 (ESV)
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Psalm 51:10 (ESV)
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Prayer:
Father God, in heaven there is praise all the time, and in hell there is no praise. However, here on the earth we have the option to praise you. Father, I choose to join with the Saints who praise you every day. Praise the Lord! Amen.
145:2 (ESV)
2 Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
