Title: Who Do You Trust in to Right the Wrongs in Your Life?

Text:

Psalm 52:1-7 (ESV)
1
Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The steadfast love of God endures all the day.
2
Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit.
3
You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking what is right. Selah
4
You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.
5
But God will break you down forever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
6
The righteous shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying,
7 "See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and sought refuge in his own destruction!"

Observation:

David  had to deal with a very difficult man. This enemy was speaking untruthful words about David, and attempting to smear him before King Saul.

When David discovered what evil this man was doing he turned to the Lord for help. David was a man who trusted in the Lord with his whole heart.

When you trust in the Lord you don't have to worry about protecting your name. Rather, David spent his time in a more productive way; he gave honor and praise to the name of the Lord. God protected David's name because David honored God's name. God is not a negligent father; He takes care of His children.

Psalm 52:8-9 (ESV)
8
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.
9 I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.

Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I give honor, glory and praise to Your most holy and righteous name.

Father God, my soul sings, "Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless Your holy name". Lord, You are good and gracious, and I thank You for all my blessings every day.

Father God, Sovereign Lord, I deposit my troubles and my cares in Your trustworthy hands knowing that my problems are no match for Your power. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
