Title: An Invitation to See and Taste the Love of God

Text:

Jeremiah 15:16 (ESV)
16 Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts.

Observation:

The prophet Jeremiah was devoted to the word of God.  This devotion resulted in him searching the word of God. As a result of his searching, he found nourishment from the word of God. Jeremiah found provision and pleasure in God's word.

It is not enough to own a bible. It is in the reading and the heading of the Bible that results in the growth and development of our spiritual life.

While Jeremiah was devoted to the word of God there were some that were not; they didn't have time to search God's word.

Jeremiah 6:10 (ESV)
10 To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ears are uncircumcised, they cannot listen; behold, the word of the LORD is to them an object of scorn; they take no pleasure in it.

Are you looking for the Lord in His Word? You can say like Jeremiah, "Your words were found", if you search for Him in His Word.

Psalm 34:8 (ESV)
8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Prayer:

Father God, my dear Father, every time I open my Bible, I pray that You would open the eyes of my head and my heart so that I might see wonderful things from Your word; that I might taste the love of the Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Psalm 119:18 (ESV)
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.

--

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
