The Word of God for wisdom:
Proverbs 21:4 (NLT)
4 Haughty eyes, a proud heart, and evil actions are all sin.
The Word of God for inspiration:
Psalm 31:19 (NLT)
19 How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.
Psalm 31:24 (NLT)
24 So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD!
The Word of God for encouragement:
1 Corinthians 7:10-16 (HCSB)
10 I command the married—not I, but the Lord—a wife is not to leave her husband.
11 But if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband—and a husband is not to leave his wife.
12 But I (not the Lord) say to the rest: If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not leave her.
13 Also, if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not leave her husband.
14 For the unbelieving husband is set apart for God by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is set apart for God by the husband. Otherwise your children would be corrupt, but now they are set apart for God.
15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let him leave. A brother or a sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to [live in] peace.
16 For you, wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Or you, husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?
My observation:
One of the things I take away from this passage is how marriage can be a ministry. Paul deals with the couple who become unequally yoke after the marriage because both were unsaved when they were married. In this circumstance, there is a ministry opportunity for the saved spouse.
Christian spouses have a ministry opportunity to each other. Paul shows the way in Ephesians 5:22-33. Also, I like this quote by Warren Wiersbe.
"Success in marriage involves much more than finding the right mate. It also requires being the right mate".
My prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I pray that for the sake of the gospel, and the purpose of marriage, that believers would get back to the bible view of marriage. Father, help husbands and wives to be the right mate. In Jesus name, Amen.

1 Corinthians 1:2-3 (HCSB)
2 To God's church at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus and called as saints, with all those in every place who call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord—⌊both⌋ their Lord and ours.
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
