Title: What Kind of Seeds Are You Planting?

Text:

Galatians 6:7 (ESV)

7  Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

Observation:

Today's choice word is planting. The first law of the harvest is that everything begins with a seed. Our focal verse tells us, "Whatever one sows, that will he also reap".

What kind of seeds are you planting in your life? What kind of seeds are you planting in the lives of others?

Another law of the harvest is that we reap more than we sow, and that we don't reap in the same season that we sow.

2 Corinthians 9:6 (ESV)

6  The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

It's always good to pray before you plant. Ask the Lord to direct you to the good soil; then, plant bountifully, and expect to reap bountifully.

Psalm 126:5-6 (NLT)

5  Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.

6  They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.

Everything belongs to God, and comes from God. Our talent, time, and treasure are gifts from God, and are the seeds we can plant in others. This is what happens when we generously plant seeds.

2 Corinthians 9:10-12 (NLT)

10  For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

11  Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.

12  So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.

Prayer:

Father God, I pray that You will stir the hearts of Your people, and give us a burning desire in our hearts to plant spiritual and material seeds in the lives of others.

Father, help us to pray, watch, and wait for You to produce an abundant harvest in the lives of others that will result in praise and thanksgiving to You, and to blessings in the lives of those we plant the seeds. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
