Title: Why Did Jesus Come Into the World?
Text:
Philippians 2:8 (HCSB)
He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.
Observation:
Why did Jesus come into the world; that is a good question, and the bible has the answer. The bible says this.
John 3:16-17 (HCSB)
16 "For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
This is the way John the Baptist introduced Him:
John 1:36 (HCSB)
When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, "Look! The Lamb of God!"
This is the problem that everyone who has a human father has; and this is a problem that Jesus did not have because He did not have a human father.
Romans 3:22-23 (HCSB)
22 —that is, God's righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe, since there is no distinction. 23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Our big problem was God's raw material for a miracle of love and grace. Jesus came that you might have life everlasting; living in His presence forever. Sin marred God's plan, but Jesus fixed it.
John 14:1-3 (HCSB)
1 "Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (HCSB)
He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I pray that in this Christmas season that we will think seriously and soberly about how much you hate sin, and how much you love us.
Father God, I thank You for Jesus, and for the price that He paid so that I would not have to die for my own sins.
Father God, I thank You that the gospel does not end with your coming; that there is more to the story. Lord, I love to tell the whole story; and it is this.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (HCSB)
3 For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
Do you believe the gospel? Is Jesus alive in you? And God's people said, "Amen and Amen".

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
