Title: The People of God Are Never Alone
Text:
Psalm 31:21-24 (ESV)
21 Blessed be the LORD, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city.
22 I had said in my alarm, "I am cut off from your sight." But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help.
23 Love the LORD, all you his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride.
24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!
Observation:
God places great value on having a personal relationship with his people. It is humbling and awe inspiring to take note that God loves and cares about you and me personally.
David discovered that God is a faithful God. When we call upon him, he responds to our cry for help. He is an able God, and a faithful friend. I love the line from the Dottie Rambo song "He looked beyond my fault and saw my need".
Genuine faith in God is never alone. David trusted in the Lord, and the Lord rewarded his faith. Use this truth to encourage yourself.
Psalm 31:14 (ESV)
14 But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."
Psalm 31:19 (ESV)
19 Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind!
No matter what trials and troubles you face in your life, if you trust in the Lord, he will give you what you need to win the battle. Life may be hard sometimes, but God is good all the time, and the best is yet to come.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I praise and thank you that your people are never in the battle alone. The foes we face may be within or they may be without; but, the people of God can rely upon the knowledge that they never have to face the foe alone.
Lord, I bless your holy name because you have shown me your marvelous kindness. All that is within me gives praise to you. In Jesus name, Amen.

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
