Sunday Morning Reflections_February 20, 2011

The Word for wisdom:

Proverbs 20:22 (MSG)
Don't ever say, "I'll get you for that!" Wait for God; he'll settle the score.

The Word for inspiration:

Psalm 128:1-4 (HCSB)
1 How happy is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways! 2 You will surely eat what your hands have worked for. You will be happy, and it will go well for you. 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house, your sons, like young olive trees around your table. 4 In this very way the man who fears the Lord will be blessed.

The Word for encouragement:

Psalm 1:1-3 (HCSB)
1 How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers! 2 Instead, his delight is in the Lord's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

My prayer:

Holy Father, Sovereign Lord, I thank for the blessings that you pour out upon your people who fear the Lord, and who obey your instructions.

Father, renew within me the desire to love you more dearly, to obey you more promptly, and to serve you more faithfully. Father, I know that I cannot do these things in my strength, but I can do all things in the strength of my God.

My song:

In the Name of the Lord (Click on link below for the lyrics and to listen to this song):

Psalm 37:23 (HCSB)
A man's steps are established by the Lord, and He takes pleasure in his way.

Psalm 103:14 (HCSB)
For He knows what we are made of, remembering that we are dust.

  1. We need a holy reverence for God; He is not the man upstairs. He is the creator of everything that was made. Let all who know the Lord fear Him.

    Proverbs 1:7 (ESV)
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
